My Design Process
Each and every design project varies. Clients have different levels of involvement and are at various stages of the business cycle. I have the fortunate opportunity to work with major national companies all the way to local tradesmen. In both cases the pleasure has been all mine! But essentially the graphic design process remains the same in most cases:
INITIAL DISCUSSION
First and foremost lets get to the point. Who are you and what are you trying to achieve? Firstly we’ll have a chat and discuss your requirements and I will ask you to fill out a briefing form to set me on my mission.
RESEARCH
From your brief I will then conduct thorough analysis of your competitors and the industry as a whole as to the ways its going from a design perspective. I will consider the market leaders, the strength of your competitors how the end customers think and work.
CONCEPTUALISATION
I will then design some preliminary concepts (yes with a pencil and paper) initially and then digitalise these on screen. I will present you a number of options for your review.
FEEDBACK & REVISIONS
I am really flexible and I listen to your suggestions. It really angers me when I see designers ignore the client and think they know best. I am certainly not like this and respect my clients opinions and they expertise they have in the field. Accordingly, when presenting feedback revisions we will work them together.
PRODUCTION
I make the necessary amends then send revised copies until you are completely satisfied. Normally we get it right very quickly however we will keep amending until you get the design just right.
DELIVERY
On design sign off, I will deliver all the design files for you in various formats and of course you will own the copyright to all your work, not me.
